The Lambir Hills National Park, situated along the Miri-Bintulu Road, about 30 km south of Miri Town, holds significant conservation value due to its diverse forest ecosystem, attracting botanists and researchers globally.

 

The park predominantly features a rich Mixed Dipterocarp Forest, characterized by towering dipterocarp trees like kapur and meranti, covering over half of its area. Additionally, various forest types such as Kerangas Forests, secondary forests, and logged-over forests contribute to its biodiversity, housing an array of plant species, alongside a diverse animal population including bats, monkeys, pangolins, and barking deer, with a recorded 157 bird species.

TOUR DESCRIPTION:
The Lambir Hills National Park is located along the Miri-Bintulu Road, some 30 km south of Miri Town. This park has an outstanding regional and global conservation significance for its extraordinary species- rich forest, ideal for botanist and researchers throughout the world. More than half of the area of the park is covered with rich natural Mixed Dipterocarp Forest where huge, tall dipterocarp trees such as kapur, meranti, kempas and selangan batu are found. Other forest types found are Kerangas Fores with smaller and shorter trees like rhu bukit and selunsur bukit, low shrubs, pitcher plants and orchids; secondary forests and logged-over forests. Apart from the various tree species, the park is very rich in order plant species such as ferns, gingers, vines, palms, mushrooms, moss and lichen, flowering and fruiting shrub trees, climbers and creepers. There are a good variety of animals including bats, monkey, pangolins and barking deer. Up to 157 species of birds have been recorded.
